Dental Laser

Dental Laser

Dental lasers are used efficiently in many dental procedures, including root canal treatment, gum surgery, tooth decay or removal of caries. They provide an improved experience for the dental patients, as the use of drill still remains one the most dreaded tools. We are now able to eliminate the use of drill in many dental procedures replacing it with a more comfortable, vibration and pain-free laser light, with only a gently tapping sound experienced. We find that laser use is a more comfortable and less fear-producing and less intimidating for most patients.

How dental lasers work?

Dental lasers emit light that delivers quick pulses of light energy to the treatment area. Various wavelengths are used to remove and heal unhealthy tissue depending on the type of tissue being treated. The oral cavity tissues rapidly absorb the focused light produced by the laser. When treating caries and other teeth and gum problems, the laser removes the decay very gently, leaving more of the healthy tooth unaffected.

Is anesthesia still required with laser dentistry?

In most cases the Lite Touch laser eliminates the need for anesthesia, allowing for less time spent during the treatment. Also the dentist can treat a number of teeth, and work in different parts of the mouth all during a single visit.

Other uses

Dentists use Lite Touch laser efficiently not only for tooth decay but also in many other areas of dentistry, including root canal treatment, gum surgery and implantolgy.
