Professional Expertise

Dr Perrett is specialised in Cosmetic Dermatology and Clinical Dermatology with special interest in Mohs micrographic surgery, Photodynamic therapy (PDT), Skin cancers and skin problems in organ transplant recipients.

Education And Qualification

After medical school Dr Perrett undertook medical training in London and Oxford and was awarded the Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) in 2001. His subsequent specialist training in Dermatology was at Barts and The London NHS Trust and The Royal Free Hospital. In 2002 he was awarded a prestigious Cancer Research UK (CR-UK) Clinical Research Fellowship to undertake a PhD investigating mechanisms of skin cancer development in immunosuppressed organ transplant recipients and photodynamic therapy (PDT) to treat pre-cancerous skin lesions in these patients.

In 2008 Dr Perrett was awarded a PhD for this work by the University of London.

In 2009 he undertook post-CCST training in dermatological surgery and Mohs micrographic surgery at University Hospital Wales, Cardiff and subsequently established the Mohs micrographic surgery service at UCH. Honorary Senior Lecturer at University College London (UCL) and Imperial College London.

Dr Perrett is an active contributor to dermatology research. In 2002 he was awarded a prestigious Cancer Research UK (CR-UK) Clinical Research Fellowship. Alongside his clinical commitments, and supervision of a PhD student, Dr Perrett has also served as PhD and Final MB examiner for the University of London. Dr Perrett is a Consultant Dermatologist and Dermatological Surgeon at University College London Hospital (UCLH) NHS Foundation Trust. More recently, he set up a private specialist dermatology practice London Dermatology.
